Performance & Measurement

What should we measure to know whether performance is really improving?

AI can improve activity, efficiency, and local performance without necessarily improving the outcome the organization ultimately cares about. The management question is whether the measures being used show real progress toward enterprise results.

Are we measuring activity and adoption, or a meaningful change in performance?

Has the organization become faster or cheaper, and has that improvement changed the business result?

Which measures give early evidence of progress, and which confirm whether the expected outcome was ultimately achieved?

Do local performance measures connect clearly to the enterprise outcomes they are intended to support?

Are different teams and functions measuring success in ways that reinforce the same enterprise result?

Is the evidence strong enough to support the performance claim being made?
